What are the positives and negatives of removing the balance shaft belt on the h22a in a drag only car.

 

no disadvantages.but in a street car,ive heard of it damaging the oil pump.im sure in a race car ,your not expecting it to last forever.

 

positives: it revs quicker, makes a noticeable difference

negatives: hmm, i dunno...haven't noticed any yet.

do a search, there was a great thread on this a while back. i would do it for you but im tired and going to bed.

 

i've been told 10 whp, but it doesn't feel like it's that big of an increase.

 

well good a bad news for me ...i just did mine 10 min ago ....it revs way faster ..BUT i have a nasty vibration at about 7000rpm.....i can only feel it in the peadle for some reason .......this sucks

i just took off the belt...is there any thing else i should have done
