91 CRX - I just bought one, and would like some suggestions.
CRX runs very good, and is recieving a transplant of my audio system from my Bronco over to it. All 4 speakers suck badly and need to be replaced.
I will be using the car as a daily driver, and as a weekend bracket racer. I will be making the first test passes with the car just as I bought it. I have removed the AC belt, since I dont use AC that often.
Engine wise, I will be doing a cold air intake, and need some ideas to get the car a little faster and looking better under the hood. The engine is clean and seems to be no fluid leaks anywhere. Trans shifts quite well, but linkage on shifter seems loose. Clutch is good but will be upgraded later.
Here are my Plans for what I would like to do:
Cold Air Intake, Limited slip diffs, exh header, cat back system with strait flow muff or resonator. Stage 2 clutch, fiberglass fenders, 17x7 tires and rims, 75 shot NOS, improved EFI system.
What other mods will get the most ice for my rice lol. Engine is a SOHC, guessing a D15 but not sure, Im new to the honda thing, even though this is my 3rd honda.

stereos and racing dont mix. (unless you just mean new speakers and a head unit)
do you have a DX SI or HF?
If you have a DX do an MPFI swap
IF you have a HF swap the whole motor to a d16z6 or d16y8
If you have an Si swap the head out for a Z6 or Y8 head.
plenty of other stuff you could do including dropping in a B-series.

Not to sound Dumb but other than Not seeing Si anywhere but where the prev owner put it on the dash in red slick on letters. I ran some base runs with the stock engine and tires that came on it.
1/8th mile
2.451 - 60 foot
63.47 mph
10.843
That was my fastest run. Only mods were to take the fronts down to 21 lbs pressure, removing the air filter, and taking the intake plumbing from off the top of the radiator, and chopping a piece from my 85 Ludes intake and running it to under the front bumper.
I was told it was a D15 but not sure of any other info on what engine it is. I do know that It does good so far but needs more to bring the times even lower.
First in the progression of mods is a set of Nitto Drag Radials for race nights. Also will build a new cold air intake to remove the hacked up one I made in 5 mins from parts out of my lude.
What head can I use on that engine IE VTEC or other. Can it be switched from SOHC to a DOHC or is that worth the trouble.

Just a suggestion, but save up money for the vtec swap. And perhaps pass on the 17 in wheels, just too heavy compared to 15's and 16's not to mention saving money on tires.
Thanks, I am looking for aftermarket rims, but everywhere I turn the smallest I see is 17s, and I dont want them. Im content with 14s or 15s. I get excited when driving this car, and cant wait to booste the juice and rip around town. I love going to the strip, but dont want to go hog wild on parts, and dont want to rice the car up.
I do want to be able to turn much faster times in the 1/8th like going from high 10s to the mid 9s. This is where I need to look real close at what I buy for the car.

if you want to know what motor you have in there, the code is stamped on the block between the motor and the tranny, to the left of the exhaust manifold.
