right now i have a T3/T4 turbo, .82 ar exhaust, .60 ar 60 trim intake. my plans are to hit over 400 HP with a 8k rpm redline. what are your suggestions on a turbo upgrade? budget is kinda tight.

 

that turbo will get you over 400hp. all u gotta do is turn up the boost and get it tuned. what motor setup are u runnin?

sorry i shouldve been a little more specific. i wanted over 400 hp, in the 500 hp range. the suggestion about the SC44, wouldnt that be a step down? my turbo is .82 ar/.60 ar. sorry if i am wrong, i am not completely knowledgable about turbos

what size wheel do u have in your turbo right now? stage 3 or 5?

i dont know why u need to upgrade? that turbo will net u 500whp. that is quite a large a/r and i really don't think u need to upgrade. just crank it to 25psi on some c16 and a good fuel management system, and i'll think you'll see the numbers u want.

 

Without knowing what trim it is you don't know if it will make 500hp. You need the details bro, it's all in the details...

 

your right man..i just assumed it would be like a 60 trim with atleast a stage 3 wheel if not a stage 5 since he has such a large a/r. so yeah, what r the details? what trim and what wheel are we talkin here?

The SC44 would be an upgrade.

It supports 565hp within it's efficency range.

I would plan on upgrading that oil feed line along with the turbo swap..

SC44 would do you nicely

 

maybe in the future but i dont think its nessecary at all. the rubber hose works fine along with the barb fitting. also i have a fire proof cover for it from aeroquip

 

arturbo, could you post a list of your SC style turbos (sc44, SC61, etc) and give me a recommendation based on my goals and my current turbo. why are precision turbos better? so far ive searched that they use GT series compressors. ive also read that they have superior spool up.

 

.60 trim T04E should make ~450 whp.

Yup, you can make your HP goals with the turbo you have. If you got an SC44 its the same specs that you have right now. Its a T04E .60 trim. No use in buying a turbo that you already have that will make your HP goals. It all depends who is tunning your car.
