Just wondering if there's enything going on in or near Long Beach on Friday (tomorrow). I have about 6or 7 hours to kill in the morning while my gf is doing rehearsal stuff for her friend's wedding.

Are there any good shops you guys could reccommend or, even better, is there an event of any kind going on?

 

shine street is about 15 minutes north and has a nice showroom.

 

velocity is another 20min north of shinestreet. they make purty mags there

to this day I still ride my Powell '7 layer' PerWelinder deck outfitted with such goodies as:

Gullwing trucks
"marble style" vision blur dubbz
15+ yr old bones brigade bearings
shmitt stixx rails
original vinal from 'animal chin' and 'bones brigade'

I like to show it to the "newbie" riders...they get a kick out of seeing the cadillac of all that was skateboards

Yep, but it was all good, used the ramps for skate and bike so at least only one set needed to be built

yup, and still have them thats the only reason i remember.

I made my own launch ramp after a friend flaked to help me. Had to tear it down about a year later, after I started getting too many pEEps coming over that I didn't know to my house

Man, I wish I had taken pictures of the stuff me and my friend used to build, it was amazing.

The one that comes to mind was a launch ramp that we used to set aside his parents POS car and do various grinds and slides off the edge of the hood
Also we had wooden garage doors which made it fun to wallride, but left many wheel marks.

Does anyone remember an old skate video that in the title was the "Sacramento"
Something like that...it basically was a skate contest with Neil blender, Lance mountain,Gonz, and it featured them skating on the car the majority of the time.
Just trying to see if anyone can help me with the title. It also had them skating to The Misfits -Walk Among us album.
