introduction and a few questions
Hello all
Id like to start off by saying I think H-T is one of the most informative boards period. I Have owned and build mk3 supras for about 3 years now and have been on boards for that car and assorted others.
I recently took delivery of a 90 dx hatch that I would like to ghettoboost with spare parts from my supra and assorted other friend's cars. Im planning on doing the mpfi conversion. I wan wandering if there is any advantage to the d16a head over the d15. I have heard that the cam is slightly different and possible valves(?).
Thanks for any responses. More stupid questions to come

yes...the d16a6 head has a better cam...and the valvesprings are better. if you buy new springs from honda for the d15b2 head they have been replaced with the d16a6 springs anyways. i dont know if the rocker arms are any different...id have to look up part numbers. but other than that the head castings are supposedly the exact same.

use the Si ECU and add the MPFI plugs to your DX harness...use the Si or an HF harness to get the extra connectors. just search on MPFI theres tons of confusing **** about it on this board

if your gonna swap heads and you already have to go through the trouble of running wires why not get a Y8 or z6 head. VTEC isnt gonna hurt.

just so you know, you can also use a D15 exhaust manifold as a turbo manifold. get one for $15 and you'll see what i mean. get a machine shop to fashion you an adapter flange to fit the turbo, and you just saved about $175. maybe you already knew this, but it's just my .02

ok, well I dont have a head. the thing I keep reading about the mini-me is that it has high compression. I plan to boost. If the compression is the same as the d16y8/z6 then cool. but Id be iffy on anything higher. I am a believer in higher compression. the supra will be a tad over 9:1 w/~20psi, but that is with a standalone and possible water injection. I dont want this car to become another headache. I just want to have some
