What engine is in the 89 CRX DX carb. Also other questions about engine tranny combo's
Now dont flame me because I know absolutly nothing about CRX's. Second of all, I checked archived topics and could not find the information I was looking for. Third...if I ask a stupid quesiton, answer it, because I wouldn't have asked it if I didn't know. btw my ignorance about the CRX does not correlate to other aspects of cars
To the questions...
1)What engine comes in a DX '89 CRX that is carbed?
2)What tranny comes in .....
3)What is a good mount kit for swapping a b18c1/b16 motor in...hastport?
4)What kind of wiring harness/PCM/axles/hubs would be BEST when swapping the b16/b18c1
5)Will the factory tranny in the DX bolt up to a b16/b18c1(probably no...but i had to ask)
6)What gen b16 had the distributor problem? OBD1? OBD0?
7)Whats a good price to pay for a B16 w/tranny vs. B18c1 w/tranny
8)Can I swap the cluster from an GSR into this car?(think I saw one, but is there more too it than meets the eye?)
9)Can I swap the front/back brakes for a GSR
10)What sux about the DX (model differences) does it have any specific downfalls?
I think thats it soo far. Thank you for reading this and hopefully you can shed some light on this subject. thank you
btw- I dont own a CRX...Im just working w/a friend on one...needed some info for the swap

the engine is a d15.....if its the carbed model, a motor swap is gonna be significantly difficult. you are lacking quite a bit of wiring there i believe. i think you would have to run all the fuel injection wires, and the fuel system would be different. it can be done though, but its a bit of work
No USDM 1989 Civic ever had Carbs. The closest thing was the shitty 2 fuel injector DPFI system of the STD and DXs, but that is still fuel injection, not carb.
its a 88 devan just called me
so does that one have carbs? cuz this one has carbs

its not carb'ed
its called duel point fuel injection. pretty much 2 fuel injectors stuck into a carb
*shrugs*

i'm pretty sure they DID make a usdm carbed hatch.....in honda-tuning a while back they featured the progress road-race hatch, i think it was an 88 or 89, and it was carbed from the factory. its the only one i've seen or heard of , so i assume they are rare. i'm 99% sure they do exist.....but i've been wrong before....

On the back of the head on the passenger end, there's a blank where the fuel pump would go. If there's a fuel pump there, then it could bd carbed, but then it's not a USDM market motor. DX's had DPFI, here's what it looks like: http://www.wolfenet.org/gallery/crx/aao
Enjoy!
