Default LS/Vtec ?

what rpm is safe for mildly built (as in piston rods) block with b16a1 head? Does the stroke come out to be to tall like the B20frank to rev it high?
also what is a good Ls/vtec street (say 93 octane)setup?
thanks alot in advance
Justin

if you have rods then it should be good for an 8500 redline. after that theres not much power to be made on that crank. the crv and the ls use the same crank... exactly the same... so the stroke is the same. i have ctr pistons in mine with a milled b16 head and my compression is roughly 12:1. i know that compression is kinda high... but its ok on 91 if you tune it with all the proper fuel accessories.... im doin fine and so will you, just remember to tune it asap...

I was thinking along the lines of 12.5compression with 93. I believe I am building the head so any ideas on some nice cams that will make power up higher, but not to agressive.
