Default Can this Type r hit the 12 sec on a 1/4 mile

sup guys i have a Type R . My plan is to hit the 12 sec on a 1/4 without doing a big jobs such as cams, but will put cam grears and i can tunne the stock cams when the car gets tunned and pistons. some people say that with all that work im still not going to hit the 12 mark. I plan to basicly going and put every bolt on parts you can think of . i have I/H/E now and see that peolpe with these mod are doing 13s when im done with all my mods the last thing if anything will be a zex 50 shot

whats ya think about this and what think i would run on the track if i do all this (Any Info would be Great)

NOZZZZZ not worth it. Rewin your motor easily for a small amount of speed. Just add the bolt ons and have fun if you want your car to last a good amount of time

you need to get some quality, bolt on parts...like a smsp header rather than a dc jdm header, get crazy compression, and tuning (hondata), and slicks...then, maybe you'll have a chance

don't do nos

Nitrous is just as safe as anything else as long as you use it right.

However to answer the original question: I don't think you'll hit 12's on that setup without stripping a few hundred pounds off of the car.

ummm not likely. I think about 190whp is possible on stock cams...is that fast enough for 12s? with slicks and right driver...possible, but not very likely.

stock ITR cams are good for 205whp max, ive seen it done. but to hit 12's you are going to need around 200-210 whp, slicks and the car will have to be gutted.
If you are serious about this with stock cams think about CTR .25 overbore pistons, mugen or spoon head gasket. fully ballanced bottom end, adj cam gears, Hytec header and exaust, hondata, or perferably aem ems.

or you can run the set up above with skunk 2 stage 2 cams or toda b's and you will definately make 200-210 whp with tuning. then all you will have to worry about is driving the car to that 12 sec 1/4 time.

Why? I wouldn't use it in my car, but it works. If he wants to use nitrous later on, to hit 12's, he's a wannabe??

itr206 hit 12's in his Type R with a direct port kit. Hit him up on instant messenger, he can probably help you get there. In fact I think he has his own business, too ... so he could get you all the parts you needed.

You will need slicks along with the direct port kit, fuel upgrades and some nitrous safe guards. IIRC Zex isn't the way to go if you are thinking about nitrous, NOS and NX are the prefered companies, with NX having the best jets.

just let him be with his nos.

only wannabe's here are those who preach on N/A and swear by the bible about black wheels and jdm whoreness

You can get closer to 215, actually.

And if you are going to do it, you're gonna need the best stuff available. SMSP, Hytech, etc...

nitrous ---> more air into your engine, something cai just won't cut on its own,
add more fuel and make more horsepower.

its either function or fashion.. what matters to you more?? whats more impressive is how you manage to control/use your setup, whether its supercharger/turbo/nitrous or all motor.

why not get cams? if you relly want to hit that 12 second mark, your'e gonna want them. your'e gonna need the best there is and a crap load of tuning. but i do think its possible with slciks and some weight reduction and a bad *** driver

well my plan was to get my Rota this summer and save up for the summer, fall.winter, and spring so when next summer come i would have about about 5 -6 Gs and i was going to to throw 5-6 g into that Engine or now im think about just building a crazy 1.8 VTEC with only spoon , toda , and mugen parts

because everyone knows that haphazardly throwing together spoon, mugen and toda parts will get you into the 12's.

it must be that mad crazy VTEC action y0

I can agree with you about the NOS but why does everyone hate drag racing. I mean it takes just as much talent to drag as it does to autoX or road race. You guys think that the type R isnt meant to be dragged but for what I have seen it makes a very good import drag car. I know you guys say imports in general should not be drag raced but the challenge to get those times with such little engines is half the fun. I still can agree on the forced induction because I like to know the low 1/4 mile time is because of the engine alone. It all comes down to what YOU want to do with YOUR car.
