H23 auto prelude >>> manual tranny conversion?
I did the swap...I got a whole parts car (93 Si totalled) from an auction for $1200..then bought a new clutch (ACT HD pressure plate/street disc combo) & a clutchmaster 8.5lb flywheel for a little over $600. I wish I wouyld've had money for a good LSD though... So now, I'm at $1800 in parts...I had a friend who's done 3 of these swaps help out (I gave him a little bit of cash)so I saved a bit of money...otherwise, labor could cost $600 - $1000 depending on where you take it...Pros - The car has come alive & is awesome - I have yet to encounter any problems. Cons- It costs a lot of money, but if the car is in really good condition & you've already started to mod it, it's worth it....It is difficult, but if you know what you're doing, it's worth it. A good parts list & the write-up that we followed can be found on preludeonline.com under 4th gen faq's
Chris it's OK to refer people to Charles, just give out his email sparingly and only through emails or pm's. Everyone knows him anyway "ludeconduct/preludex2" depending on which site you're on. He also had his red 4th gen in the December issue of Honda Tuning. ~Mike (#2 auto-to-5spd done by Charles)
