Default Wondering about my new lude's engine power?

I just bought my '98 Prelude a few weeks ago. It's in near perfect condition with 55k miles and i got it for a great deal.

I do have a question though, I used to own an Accord and i've been in plenty of other hondas/acuras and i noticed that the prelude is quite a bit louder than those (as far as noise volume in the cab). Also, the engine is quite a bit different sounding. Now don't get me wrong, i like it - but my buddy had a ragged out Integra with like 95k miles with a shitty rice exhaust and sometimes I feel my new prelude sounds kinda reminicent of that!

So i was wondering... are all of you guys' prelude's a little noisy in the cab? I am not sure if I am getting as much power as I need to also... my old LX (non Vtec) Accord used to hesitate a little when you hit the gas in first gear (you know when you let out on the clutch and you get that little jerk thing before it accelerates kinda like it's struggling)... well my prelude seems to be doing that a little.

I had it thoroughly checked by another Honda dealer before I bought it and they said it passed with true colors. I know it's hard to tell me if my car is driving ok by just these words... but i think i'm gonna get new spark plugs and stuff and see if that helps.

Also, my car runs at about 5000 rpm at 90mph? Is this normal with the high compression engine... it would seem almost as if the prelude could have used 6 gears!

Any comments/helpful tips?

5000rpm is right for 90mph.... 100mph is around vtec.
Preludes have loud cabin noise......i think b/c the h22 is naturally noisey.

As far as you acceleration being a little sluggish that might be a problem with your clutch. Im not sure though.

did you get this figured out? i just posted a similar problem with my car, but my RPM doesn't spike past 3000 unless i really push it past 90 mph. Usually, my RPM tops out at 3000 out of 1st gear, or any gear, for that matter... it's pissin' me off.

let me know what you found out.
peace.
