Default Possible prelude purchase...

OK so I got just a few questions about a prelude. I've got a good friend with a well taken care of prelude that's up for sale. I'm curious about availability of engines. Apparrently the crank pulley broke. That's been fixed but the engine is still in need of some serious headwork and its probably going to be getting a new engine. Which engine is preferred when going FI? I know I've got a ton of research to do before even considering it. I've always wanted an integra but this deal may be too good to pass up. If anyone can give me some info on turboing a prelude please let me know. I'd be really interested in others experience. I'm mainly looking for which engine has the most support for this type of project.

Thanks for any replies,
Noel

OK some more info for you guys.

It's a 1993 Prelude Si with ~135k miles, from the search I've done it appears that the engine is a H23A1 ? I checked goldeneagle and they do sleeve this block. That's always good news. The engine does need a new head. The crank pulley broke and threw the timing all to hell and bent valves and supposedly ruined the head.

My goal is to turbo the car obviously, I would like to build the engine completely and save up for the turbo. Assuming the head is gone, any problems with just buying another head and then assembling it to the hopefully rebuilt block? I would like to see about 300hp safely. This is a 2.3L engine ? so this would be doable on pump gas with good tuning right? Previously I've had my heart set on an integra but this deal looks pretty good. I know the owner personally and I know he's had fun in the car but has taken really good care of it.

If anyone wiser than I has some insight lemme know.

Thanks,
Noel

Edit : He was asking 5-6k for the car once he replaced it with a new or low mileage engine. What should I offer him for the car? The paint isn't the greatest but a friend I are going to repaint it anyhow. There's no body damage.
