I am looking for an original ITR car cover. The one with the red acura and Type R logo. The dealership by my house wants $180 for it. I think thats insane. I asked around and some ppl have gotten it for $130 from dealerships. I was wondering if anyone was selling theirs. Please let me know if you are, thanks!

 

yo, if u buy an oem car cover it wont fit if u have a r wing.... That is what my dealer said

I got one free with a few holes in it from another member here awhile back, I'm sorry I forgot his name but, thanks to him.

It is ITR specific and Does fit the wing, I can look at the sku number on it and post if you like.

The dealership near me also sells them for about $140. which I thought was a steal but, you're right, $180. is a bit steep. You could get a custom cover that is better for the same price or a bit more.

You missed me print free?

A squirrel got into it and made a few small holes. I use it to keep dust and junk off of it. I'm not too worried about keeping the car in mint condition. It is stored for weeks and months at a time so any cover is better than none and free was a Hell of a deal.

Small holes + Free cover = Me.

if i was you i would just buy it from the dealer for 180 or whatever the price you had was. at least you got it new.

Hi guys,,,,,,,I bought a cover made for the R...Its's a weather sheild...Repels water..If it gets wet you just shake it off.dry in a minute,,The bad news is it cost way more than 180.00 The thing that botheres me about the Oem is if it has Type R printed on it..May attract a lot of attention......Depends on where you live i guesss,,,,,Just my thoughts

 

curious if you need to "treat" that cover every once in a while. will the water repelant (sp) stuff ever start wearing off??

 

No treatment needed...It the material it is made of..sheds water but can breathe...Only weighs about 6lbs

is there such a thing as a OEM ITR car cover? I ordered a oem acura integra and i asked 2 dealers if there was a ITR car cover and they said no.

 

There is one specifically for the R, but it doesn't say Type R on it. I think it says acura in red on the front. Mine got stolen a little while back. Make sure you always lock it. Check ahmotor.com.

i was working at acura when i bought the cover, so i made sure i was buying the right one to fit my R.

if there is an oem R specific cover, please, someone enlighten us an show some pics.

 

As far as i know, the oem ITR cover comes in a bag with a red acura logo on the bag. Its like a sack actually. Then the actual cover is supposed to say Type R in the front, like where it covers the hood/bumper. I don't mind spending $180 on the cover. I just wanna know how other ppl in different states are getting for $130 - 140. Its not really fair, damn deal mark ups.

i got mine from griots garage and it was custom made for my car. it was less than $200 and fits great. it took about 3 weeks to make it.
