Default *~I need some advice about a system in my 00 civic

Hey guys! I am britt and I love fast cars, but I have no idea about systems. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice or a link to some suggestions for a system in a 00 civic si......I already have a Sony Xplod head unit....I can't remeber the model number right now, but it was one of thier first units that plays mp3. But anywho, I am ready for some Fuukin bass in my car and I was thinking about buying a sub and box on ebay. The question I have is how hard is it to buy a 10 sub and then get a 10 sub box and put the two together? Help me guys! I know about engines but I don't know **** about systems! I deffinetly want to do with JL audio sub and I was wondering what a good amp would be. Eventually I really want to hook up all my speakers to an amp as well, but I want some bass first! Thanks! http://www.angelfire.com/oh2/p....html

What is your budget? How much bass do you want? How do you want your trunk layed out? More info please.

Considering that you listen to punk I would think that 1 10" should be plenty but everyone hears things differently.

Yeah, I don't need too much bass....I like techno and a lot of rap/rock as well. I am looking for under $300....as inexpensively as I can do it. I want good quality as well.....What are my options? I just need one 10' sub....I just need a nice box with the sub in it, not too big.....I would really prefer the amp to be attached to the box so it doesn't slid around as much when I haul *** around tight *** corners! Is it a bad idea to buy a sub and box seperately?

Personally I prefer building my enclosures but I lean towards that in just about everything. There shouldn't be any problem buying an enclosure from another vendor as long as the specs are close to the sub manufacturer's specs. If the sub manufacturer recommends a 1ft^3 sealed enclosure then make sure that the one you buy is close to that size.

For that kind of money I would recommend :

Those are just my ideas. That amp would be able to power bigger subs in the future if you wanted to.

I'm sure someone else will recommend something far different.

id say get 2 10's...and make your own box..it quite simple actually and cheap..i made a box for 2 12's...cost me exactly 12.00...i didnt carpet it up yet...but yeah...some 10w3s could do fine...a jl amp would be a little costly...so look around for other amps...mtx are decent, there are plenty more out there though...im sure ebay will be sufficient enough for finding your subs/amp...but really, i recommend you make your own box..unless you wanna spend 50-150.00 on a box...
