GM synchromesh
(note: this is a cross thread from auto-x, but received little response)
anyone use GM synchromesh in their imports? i hear many dsm'ers do, and the owner of my local honda dealership uses it in his s2k... it supposedly fixed his apprehensive 3rd gear shift, he, the owner of the dealership, called Honda of america and told them he used GM synchromesh and it fixed his tranny, Honda was upset at him for using it. what do you guys think and first-hand experience?

Ford has a similar fluid in about an 8oz bottle. I use it whenever I have to flush the tranny fluid out. It helps a lot, even when using premium tranny fluid already. You can get it at the parts counter of the dealerships for about $6.50 or so. Its called "Ford Heavy Duty Friction Modifier" and it is made to suppliment the rear differential fluid but works GREAT in Honda trannies.
You HAVE to go to your local General Motors (GM) dealers parts store and ask for there syncromesh for manual trannys. It is NOT avilable at the local parts store!!!

I have it in my tranny. I didn't really notice are remarkable difference, my synchros are like s though. My friend put it in his tranny at the same time and he said he hasn't caught a grind since. This was a few months ago.
