I just finished my zc swap into a dx and i am getting codes 9 and 16. Can someone please help me with this. The car is not running as great as I thought it would be, could the codes be the problem?

 

I have a code 9 in mine also. Thats for the cylinder position sensor I believe. Maybe if we switched the 2 wires on it it would go away or something.

 

9 is usually the cam angle sensor on the exhaust cam needs the wires swapped. 16 is ignition signal, is the distributor the one that came in the engine, and is it a known good? If not, swap the ignitor module from another one into it. They're all the same DX, Si, ZC, Teg... etc.. It's the little plastic brick with 4 wires inside the distributor. Also, carry a spare and tools to change it, it's a high failure item, even the NEC one...

 

if you have code 9 you have a bad dist amd you need to replace b/c the crank angle senor is bad and it is a pain to which out.

 

So should i switch the two wires? or get a new distributor? Can anyone still help me with a code 16.

 

Swap the angle sensor wires, see if it clears the code 9. I think you have issues with wiring right now. Do you have a helms manual?
