Im just wondering what most of u guys use for tranny oil like gear oil or 5w30??? Redline MTL tell me what u think of what u are using???

as long as it say GL-4 oil it good for your car since honda recommends GL-4 type oil for hondas. honda mtf is good so is redline mtl.

only GL-4 spec. tranny oil.

 

I read somewhere on here that Honda MTF is just 5w-30 oil.. Either way I used Honda MTF (for peace of mind)

honda MTF is actually a cross between 5-30 and a gear oil with some other ingredients &lt;sp&gt;. thaat is why is doesn't like oil.

 

I just use regular 10w40 engine oil.

 

redline mtl is good enough for me

 

the only difference between mtf and engine oil is that mtf doesnt have any detergents in it cuz the tranny doesnt need it....im not 100% positive but thats what i learned in tech school.

btw i use 5w30 in my tranny
