umm, i hate to break it to you, but you probably will not end up with red ever. at most you'll get a deep amber. either that, or the light will end up being very dim. i bought orange bulbs and went over them with the red sharpie and they were still amber. so i don't know what to tell you. its probably a no go on the red though.

I used Raybrig bulbs (clear), they're bright as hell!! But I dont know of any really bright colored bulbs.

Might want to try these, http://www.optauto.com/webstor...t=436
I've never seen anyone use these bulbs, might want to check around for their brightness. Good luck!

what i did was take the stock bulbs and peel that rubber blue coating off and then took some sand paper and lightly sanded to get the red sharpie to hold....what i got is more of a pink than red but i think it looks pretty good...when i can find some red bulbs then ill be in business. i have a 6 gen civic cluster so i also painted the needles red...

testors red spraypaint works great, way better than the sharpie method. trust me, i've tried both. don't apply too thick, or the lights will be dim.

I have "red" in my cluster. I went to Pep Boys bought 194's and put em in. Looks really good. Cost me 6 bucks.
