you grind about in inch back and enough room for it to fit once you bold it up its pretty much trial and error and then grind off what you need to, for it to fit.

here's a couple of pix of how I cut my crossmembers to fit the jdm 4-1 header...still a tight fit. Used it for a few months and bought a placeracing crossmember instead.

how is your clearance with the PR x-member? and was it worth getting or do you wish you had a JimFab or Z10 x-member now (for caster adjustment)?

I just needed something better than the hammered down crossmember so performance is not really an issue. Fitment is excellent and value ($190) is very reasonable. Handling improved considerably (more stable) especially on high speeds. I still have some wheel hop but slightly reduced.

I would just wait and get an aftermarket crossmember! My cousin cut his xmember to fit his 4-1 not as bad as those pics, but i am just gonna wait and do it right!

will getting a place racing/jimfab/z10 crossmember allow you to run these headers w/o having to notch anything?

just asking but did you re-enforce your crossmember at all or did you just cut and weld? I've heard that when you just take a chunk out of your crossmember like that you'll end up tweeking the chassis more when you hit a hard bump pn the road.....anyone ever had this problem?

i'm trying to put mine on my b18b right now and i cut the lip off the cross member. That wasn't nearly enough. You guys pull it up from the bottom or through the top when installing?

on mine, i just cut it back maybe half, to a full inch.. and it worked out.. but once i get mine out of the paint shop, im planning on going PR too.. but, whenever i wanted to take the header out, i always had to pull the X member out..

its easy to say the skid plate is a complete waste of money until you heart it scraping on oddly shaped speed bumps

i got a b16 in my 90 hatch, i had to notch out the X-member a good 1 and a half inches and took steel and welded it back in where i cut it out so it was reinforced then i took a 1/4 plate steel in like a square kind of form and welded it to the bottom of the cross member for stability, i know it sounds wierd but i will try to get some pics soon lol
