Default Thinking about giving it up.....

I've been doing some thinking lately about my R. Maybe selling it. Reasons why(not in any particular order):

-Thieves, if you've been following, some people in Houston, like these a lot and the police aren't catching on fast enough
-Attention, which goes back to thieves
-FF, wheres the fun in that? Still, undoubtably one of the funnest cars I've owned
-1.8L, could put a turbo on, but I like 2.0L turbos better, ie 240/Silvia's
-not really a money issue, but would have more to spend on my 240 project
-

and the simple fact that I get tired of parking far, or just worrying about my car all the time.
I do want to keep it, I do, but like I said I've just been doing some thinking thats all.....

Well, I thought about it a lot also especially here in Houston. I mean all the rice I see, I dont know where this sport is going....they dont even try to make the cars look good anymore, they just put on the latest thing from APC and think its the shiz-nit. Thats why I bought the Supra.. just to get away from it all.

You what though, the Supra is fun its mad fast (even being a auto) but two weeks later I bought a Civic to do a swap. I just realised that its something I like to do, its not a stage in my life, it is my life. I dont think I will ever grow out of it. I just like Hondas.

Just try to stick with it...besides a friend just made a good point, all the riceboys just make it better because when a Vette pulls up on my hybrid he's gonna think its just a kid wit a Civic CX and exhaust...that just makes beating him feel better.

Short version: You won't know the value of your R until you lose it.
Although, I feel similar on many accounts as you. In some way I feel that because this is the highest performing car I've owned, it’s only left me longing for more, not really appreciating what I have… - a greed thing I guess.
If you’re like me, after a while the whole thief thing just gets forgotten.
If it gets stolen… big deal, it’s not like you can’t get another… It’s all in what your willing to put up with.
Suggestion: When you get tired of parking far, or annoyed with avoiding door dings… Just rip into it like you don’t care, you suddenly realize the cars limits are beyond you… then all the feelings come rushing back as to why you bought it.
Let’s go AutoX next weekend in the Kroger parking lot. –I guarantee once you use the car for what it was purposed, you will feel renewed.
-on the other hand… If you never plan to “use” the car, and are still annoyed with the daily hassles… then maybe it’s not for you.

Hopefully the crime scene will fade with the RSX that came out today, however, with the zillion RS/LS/GS and Civics out there all looking for a taste of that Type R lifestyle, you will always be living in fear of finding an empty parking space where your ITR used to be.

B18C5 sell for around four grand which is a nice haul for a thief who wants a quick buck.

Basically, ask yourself if you enjoy it enough to live with the hassel. While rare, the ITR will not become a major collector car. It's an interesting footnote to the history of the 3d Gen. Integra platform, but it's no GT40.

Besides, in a couple years you can pick up an RSX Type R when it comes out. If you still have your R at that time, expect your resale value to plummet
