Slicks and stock clutch?
I'm going to the track ( a straight one ) this weekend to get an idea of how fast this new swap is.
I plan on running slicks at least one or two runs. I'm still on a stock ITR clutch and am a little wary of just dropping it and going on my merry way.
Safe? Recomendations?
Thanks.

what are your mods like? is your aar still stock?? if so the stock clutch may hold up for s few passes, but i wouldn't make a weekend out of it or it will most likely take a chit on you...

I used slicks with the stock clutch for half a year. Busted out 1.9 60fts with 8000rpm launchs and it never slipped. When I put in another clutch there was barely any thing left. What timing.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

well, i have had extremely good luck with the stock itr clutch. of course, i don't "slip" it or am constantly dumping it. on slicks with 6-7k feeding, i was able to attain 1.90 60's (15" slick), so i dunno what everyone's gripe is about....

Just cuz you are a skilled enough driver to not totally obliterate a stock clutch on slicks, it doesn't mean everyone else will have the same luck as you. I cut 2.0 60's on BFG drag on a stock clutch all summer long in my R in the summer of 2000, but trust me, one mistake and it's glazed donut city! BTW my CM Stage IV ownz all stock clutches!!
