Default Thoughts on getting my beater to run good?

I have this beater Im wanting just to have as a back up car. The interrior is stripped and I really dont care about it. its a 5 speed DX but has no engine. Heres some pics..

I was thinking of just droping in a d16a6 to get it running. I have been reading about the DPFI do MPFI but, am not sure if thats what I will be doing.

I have a couple of Si engine harness and one Si interrior harness for the intire car. i was told that If I went with the Si harness I would have to rewire the intire car. To be honest, I dont care if some shti dosent work though. As long as it runs and has break lights, im fine. Whats the easiest route folks? TIA

- Steve

In that last pic it looks like the axel is sitting in the dirt! My question is.. What exactly is the reason for doing anything to this car? Making it a sole purpose beater? If so get whatever engine you can get your hands on and through it in there.

My first thoughts on getting it to run good - get an engine

Seriously though, drop a ZC or something in there, nothing major, some wiring changes and a little care and it should be great.

Honestly the MPFI conversion is less than an hour's work, I wouldn't pull out the stock harnesses to swap in an si harness.....sell them to fools that don't know how easy the wiring really is. Just solder the connections, don't butt connect them.

if i were you id jsut find someone with a complete sohc and put it in. Someone out there should have a good runing sohc especially the guys that have a b series in their ef's. as far as the d16 and wiring i have no clue on that matter .

I dont wanan jack your thread but Im trying to do the same thing i got a 1991 crx hf for 300 bucks and in good conditionon the pass side. the drivers side needs a fender and door since the stupid stunna kid that sold me the car kicked in the fender and door and the stupid rust , other than that its really nice.

The car runs good but everytime i released the clutch the engine would stall out and wouldnt go anywhere. So messed around with the clutch adjustment and wadaya know it moves. So me thinking that i have everything good i drove it around the block and it was hard for me to shift to second gear and it was hard to take out of gear. and made clunking crunchy noises while i was in gear.

So the stunna kid that sold me that car said it was the throw out bearing, blah blah blah and he told me he recently put a new clutch in there. So today i took the tranny out to inspect the clutch, to me it looks new and looked fine. Im thinking the tranny is screwed up. or throw out bearing and such. Ill keep everyone posted.

i have a few things to post up about my car i jsut dont wanan hi jack this thread

Is it really that easy? I will read up on it but, I assumed it would be easier for me to do the complete change over since I diden ahve any interrior anyways

if you just want to get it running just get a d15b2
no point in modding it for a beater.
PLus with a d15b2 you get good gas mileage driving normally!
