Default What else do I need for header with 2.5" collector?

I am looking at getting the Kamikazee 4-1 header with the 2.5 inch collector. Should I also get a high flow cat? What else do I need besides that? Will it bolt up to my exhaust I have now (2 1/4 inch pipes)? Any help would be appreciated.

first off you dont have an exhasut jake. You have some bent pipes. LOL. If its made for the car it will bolt up but you will probaly need a cat or a test pipe. and just go buy a "real" exhaust.

Maybe I should put a Type R emblem on my car and go into the type R forum. they have always answered my questions in there.

To properly use the Kamikaze header you will need to modify or replace your stock catalytic converter. Because you may want to change it eventually I reccomend replacing the cat with a new one. Summit racing carries a 12 inch long Catco brand cat with a 2.5 inch in/out design that would work perfectly for your app. It retail's for 52.99$ and is aluminized. After that you will need to have a reputable shop flare it out properly and also use the proper 2.5 inch donut gasket and a flange that will hold it too the header and still allow some movement. I would reccomend having a reputable muffler shopbuild you a 2.5 inch exhaust with Mandrel bend's welded into the turn's. With this setup your buddy wont be able to talk trach on you anymore. BTW why the Kamikaze, are you supercharged or what.

first of all I want to thank you VERY much slowerthanu.
ok , I am not supercharged yet, but will be.......plus some NOS after new internals.I went with kamikazee because I heard they were the best for JRSC.
I have been looking into high flow cats and importparts.com said I should go with a 3inch cat because I eventually want a 3 inch exhaust. But I am pretty sure that cat will not fit with my 2 1/4 pipes I have now, and I do not want to spend another 500 on an exhaust right now.
So basically all I will need is the new cat , donut and a flange?

Would you happen to know if I ordered the 2 1/2 inch cat, would that fit my exhaust now?
Thanks again for all your help. It seems the answers are few and far apart nowadays.

The 2.5 inch cat should be sufficiant for your flow need's and yes it should bolt onto your exhaust but the gases will hit a wall when they hit the exhaust flange. I suggest paying an extra 20 dollars to have the Exhaust shop Flare the 2 1/4 Exhaust a bit and weld a 2.5 inch flange onto it that way the exhaust will have a much smoother transition too the 2 1/4 piping. As long as a year ago I heard the Kamikaze was the best for SC'ed but so many new header's have come onto the scene lately and I am convinced that there has gotta be a better header out there. I truly believe the Kamikaze was the best by accident. What I mean by that is this they are a relatively cheap company and I believe there design making the most power at the time was merely a coincidence and If they had known it was gonna outpower the rest they would have advertised it that way from the start. A 3inch cat is not needed unless you plan on doing a 2.5 inch in 3 inch out catalytic converter. If you read the new issue of TURBO you will see they do a exhaust test on a Turboed 2g Integra with a built motor running 7 psi between a 2 1/4 and a 3 inch exhaust there was about a 4 whp gain with the 3 inch and a 2 foot pounds of torque loss. now on a honda I would take the peak torque over the peak HP.

Check out http://www.summitracing.com for cat info

And http://www.turbomagazine.com for more exhaust info

Good luck with your ride and although I am not the biggest fan of Jackson Racing I wich you the best of luck.
