Am I the only one on this board with a B17A1 in an EF?
I'm looking for anyone who has this swap or knows of anyone who has done this. I have a few questions and would like to compare wiring and vacumm setups.
sorry, i don't have the swap, but i will sometime this summer. i have the engine and everything, just need mounts and then i can put it in.
how do u like it? did u use stock b17 ecu and run it all OBD1 or did u keep it OBD0?

what do u need to know ZC CRX? I am currently in the process of doing this swap. My wiring is done and i am running OBD-1 with the GSR P61 ECU.
I've got one in my '91 Si. Converted to OBD0 using B16A dizzy, Zdyne 1-wire VTEC conversion ECU, and D16A6 injectors. Great engine, perfect compromise between B16 horsepower and B18 torque.

how much did you guys pay for your swaps, using the B17 has never really occured to me, and just to clear a few things up, the bore is the same as the b16 and b18 right? If so have any of you considered tossing in a B18 crank? The B17 crank is pretty rare and a lot of guys like it for the B20 so you could make some money and get some CCs

Yes

It would result in a not so good for longevity R/S ratio plus you would need some custom short rods to use it.

i converted my entire car obd1........i like the swap......its a really nice swap it has given me no problems.........no check engines and i deliver pizzas all day.....
I've got It in my 90 Si hatch. I love it. Made my own OBD-1 conversion. The only thing I didn't do that I'm thinking about is the Fuel pressure solonoid control. I haven't had any problems from it though. The tranny is soooooo much better than any jdm cable.
I have the swap done. I've been driving the car for 2 weeks now. I have a few ECU codes like O2 heater, IAC, and Vtec oil pressure, which I bypassed. 1st I had to convert the car to MPFI. Then I had to convert it to OBD1. I did this by splicing the ECU into the OBD0 wires by cutting the OBD0 ECU plugs off. I've found a few mistakes in my wiring conversion, but nothing I could not fix in a matter of minutes. I'd just like to see some pics of this swap from anyone who has it.

you should really consider running some B16A, B18A, etc injectors or something. that engine needs some 230cc injectors to run right. also, you need (if you don't already have it) a b-series fuel pump. my friend ran a gs-r swap on d-series injectors and fuel pump, and it detonated some. then we installed b-series stuff, and it ran like a scalded dog (i'm speaking of Plan B's setup). just my .02

I just got a B17 put into my 88 crx. Runnin ODBO w/ b16a ECU (I was told it gets better power than the B17 ECU??), B16 injectors (which are better), and I beleive a LS dizzy, high flow fuel pump...runs smooth and hella fast....its got e/h/cat./cai/apexi vtec controller
I have a B17A in my '88 hatch. I'm running OBD1 with the stock P61 ECU. Never had any problems since I first started it up. I might install CTR pistons in the future
92 B17a1 in my 91 CRX DX. Using JDM S1 trans on OBD0 B16a distributor, fuel injectors, and I just upgraded my ecu to a Zdyne Gold (building turbo kit on the side). I am currently having some issues with the motor that I think could be related to fuel injection, but I am not getting any codes. I have re-done my MPFI wiring over and over and nothing is wrong with it. Oh well, I haven't really gotten to experience this thing yet...
Most of my CEL codes were from mistakes I've made in the wiring. So far I've elimanated 7 codes down to 2. I have a CEL for O2 heater (41) and and code 10, possible wire related.

According to the specifications I've seen, the D16A6 already has 240cc injectors... anyone have more info on this?

all civic/integra oem injectors flow at 240cc's. No difference between "first gen B16a injectors" or "crx injectors". Anyone who tells you otherwise, is full of it.
i actually have my car ran obd1 with prelude injectors and i like it my swap was a pain in the *** first we had to make the wiring for mpfi then we had to make the car a standard from an auto it was a fun time.....i like the swap and for some reason its really fast like i take out j spec gsr efs all day *cough chris cough* no i havent beat him yet but i stress on yet your day will come chris but anyways yes its a fun swap and i suggest running the car obd1 and using prelude injectors it was faster this way........
