Default spoon thermostat and thermoswitch....

has anyone upgraded to these and did they actually help your car keep cooler?

i have both on my car with the stock radiator
my temp needle does not go past the 1/4 mark...

during winter driving it dips below that...but my R is not a daily driver so it doesn't concern me too much...

How about.. what temperature is the coolant now compared to stock after some hard driving?

Anyone answer that?

The thermostat is too cold for daily driving IMO. The fan switch is fine. I recommend the Mugen thermostat with the spoon/mugen thermoswitch.

The answer is a simple one; you want the engine to be running at the normal operating temperature. No lower, no higher.

Monitor your engine temps and if they are too high then upgrade the cooling system. If not, don't worry about it.

You want the engine to run at the temperature it was designed for.
