Default new to bikes

hey guys, my friend just got a 2002 cbr600 f4i w/nitrous on it and he got it for 6k. i was just wondering if they usually go for that price cuz i was planning on getting one in december. would i be better off getting an r6 or a gsxr or an f3? thanks for any help. im only like 5'7 and when i sit on his bike i can just barely touch the ground on each side when the kickstands on.

yeah 6-7k is probably about right for the 2k2... the nitrous and mods probably lowered the value if anything.

you might be better off getting something cheaper that wouldn't be expensive to fix and you wouldn't mind dropping since its your first bike -- an older F3 might be a good starter if you're set on a 600cc sportbike

otherwise look into the smaller 250 and 500 -- kawasaki makes ninjas in this size and they are much more rider friendly to the beginner and butt *** cheap to boot.

find where they offer it near you (trust me, they do offer it near you) and sign up if you're going to ride on the street. take the class even if you dont get a bike. in other words, take the class before getting a bike.

you should really check with your insurance and see how much they will quote you to insure a 600 of your choice. that may help determine what to buy. you don't want to buy a new 600 just to find you can't afford the insurance :\ there are some outrageous prices out there....
