Default Much love for the 1st gen CRX (engine swap is done!)

That's an 89 Integra D16A1 engine. See my website in my sig for all of the details.

I need a PR3 ECU if someone's got one. Lemme know.

Thanks,
Sonny

Nope, that's the 5 speed tranny from the 89 Integra.

I don't think that is an auto look at the fire wall near the stearing column and I see what I think is a clutch cable

Pat:

Did you use the Hasport kit to put the B16A into your car? Man, I would like to have done that, but the kit and axles were sooo expensive. I coulda waited and saved, but JDM engine swaps are not legal in Cali.

So, turbo D16A1 is what I'm going to do. Converting over to the 89 electronics was a loooot of work. I ended up moving about 25 wires and I had to make the ELD and VSS work. It was worth it though. It's running good.

Looking good man. Just wonder though, why do you need a pr3? And when are you going to put the turbo on?

Teg tranny has good gearing. I believe it's a closer ratio gearbox than the L3 tranny that comes on the black top ZC and D16A6.

I want a PR3 because I have a Hondata Stage 4 system that I used on my old Civic. The PR3 is a logical choice for me right now. I already know how to deal with the VTEC solenoid and knock sensor inputs. Eventually, I'll convert to OBD1 but I'm kinda sick of dealing with wiring right now.

I hope the have the turbo on the car at around 2000 miles. We'll see. I'm fabbing up 2.5" exhaust first and I also have a pair of ef-1's ZC turbo cams.

Why didn't you use the 86-87 teg engine and ecu? When I had my 1st gen I was planning on converting over the brakes, engine, and ECU from a 86-87 teg. I was under the impression that everything just bolted in.

The 86-87 Teg engine/ECU is basically a direct bolt in with no wiring changes. However, that setup also uses a vacuum-advance distributor that is not compatible with any form of engine management since you have no control over the ignition timing.

Nice job! It's nice to see a 1st Gen Rex with a swap.
