Default h23 or h22

aight fellas, h23 with a turbo lots of maintenance correct? aight, what if i swap the h22 type s... change the ecu, considering the 92-96 ludes are obd1, and the type s is obd2... which do you think would be easier... or cheaper? the h22 type s or the h23 turbo, my h23 has 95k on it

First, as much as a H22 Type S is nice, how much would you be paying for it? Since they're rarer, I've only seen them for more than $4000. For that much, I would say you go with a JDM or USDM H22 and spend the leftover money on a nice aftermarket build-up they will yield you as much or more than the type S.

What have you done to your H23 so far? If you go the turbo route, you're talking a minimum of $3000 and remember the stock H23 block and 6 or more psi may lead to problems, so you would be talking even more money to build your engine. Plus, you have to spend the money to make sure you're always tuned correctly with the turbo.

The NA motor may never make the power of the turbo, but it may be more reliable & easier to live with.
