Does anyone have any info on what WHP we are looking at w/ stock boost of the JRSC kit? I hear that hondata is working on a ECU flash for the kit as well..

Anyone else hear anything or have pics dynos?

Jackson Racing hasn't even announced that they will do it yet, they only have a kit for the rsx type s for all I know. No, nobody will speculate on whp numbers from something that hasn't even been made.

well that's cool, but 200 whp is like the rsx type s with i/h and hondata, and the supercharger will probably cost about 3500-4000 knowing Jackson Racing, so what about a swap and going from there, although boost is cooler. Never heard of the jr supercharger for the si, but that does look very cool, wonder if it fits the base rsx also?

If they do charge 3500-4000 and it only increases hp to 200whp it will be a HUGE disapointment and I dont think they will sell that many of them!

i don't see how 200 horsepower is a disappointment...that is 65-70 more horsepower compared to stock. Most JRSC kits provide about 40% boost in horsepower, so 200whp would be a little more than that. Seem like good numbers to me

I think you'd have trouble finding an RSX-S engine for under $4,500. Not to mention you'd still have to spend more money modding it to get it up to 200whp.

Either way, I want to see some numbers for the GReddy turbo kit.

Really, I believe you are wrong on that one. I could almost bet you I could get an s type engine for less than 4500 dollars because a new one costs that, and a used one will definately cost a substantial amount less. Either way, boost should work better for lower compression cars.

Getting 200whp from the s motor doesn't cost all that much more than the motor itself, the majority of that money is a 600 dollar flash from hondata, which your probably gonna need with the jrsc if it comes out. See what I'm saying!

How many RSX-S engines have you seen for sale? I sure as heck haven't seen many of them.

$600 for someone to stick a plug into your ECU is quite abit of money, imo.

Import Auto Salvage has 2 USED RSX-S motors for $5,500.00 each, so good luck

WRONG....would you like me to scan my dealer invoice from when my K20A2 was replaced in my Type S? Try $7100, not to mention the $2500 in labor- thank god for warrenty. Post a link to where you can find a brand new K20 block for less than 4500.

The S motor is not cheap at all and if you could finf them for the 3-4k price you say you can then I suggest you buy 2 and make some profit off the other one.

As for the hondata, $600.00 for 20+ whp is well worth the cash. IMO it's a good deal for a reprogramed ecu with a new vtec point at 5200 instead of 6000.
Tell me another mod that nets high gains and only cost 600.

A Nitrous Express wet kit!

But are you guys sure about those supercharged type s numbers? The only reason I ask is most of the focus svt guys with the new jackson supercharger (what I will be getting in a few months) are pulling like 205-210 at the wheels. I think bone stock they are only like 149 at the wheels.

I'm the one who said the Type S motors cost well above the $3-4k range.

Ok, so you got a new type s engine for 7100 and 2500 in labor, first you didn't install the block yourself (it was under warranty!) and second the engine was straight from the dealer most likely and you didn't buy a used engine. I have never seen a bid on a type s engine on ebay go over 4500 in the last two months, and if you're lucky enough to find someone with a low reserve then there is your engine. And as for the guy saying the car on importautosalvage has an engine for 5500, I believe that is ecu, engine, tranny, and if you are putting it in your car to save money you dont need the tranny. As engines are used they use value, and if you wanted to get an engine from a salvaged car, buy the car. You can then sell the seats and carpet, dash, stereo, speakers, panels, cooling system, tires, suspension, and engine and tranny, and there you go, you made money, because you probably bought the wrecked car for a cheaper price than what you sold the parts for. Sorry to say, but if you just buy the type s engine from a company, then yes, you wont get a very good deal, I mean they are trying to make a profit, but if you watch for wrecked cars, or people who don't know what they are doing, then yes you can buy an engine like that for less than MARKET value is for the thing.
