Finally Boosted...But my Motor just Exploded!!! Need Help!
Ok, so i finally installed my custom turbo kit, and was only able to run 3-4psi (see other thread i wrote). I have been leaking a little bit of oil, (nothing major) until last night. I was driving around, and looked at my oil pressure gauge and it read 0psi!! My friend told me that it was probably just a wiring problem, but he wasn't sure, so don't push the car-- just take it home. On hte way home, i went to a gas station, and at idle, i heard some wierd sounds coming from the motor-- I turned it off, then turned it back on, then it just died. After this, the motor wouldn't start, it was trying to turn over, which meant it hadn't been seized or anything. There were puddles of oil every where under the car. We had it towed to a friends house, and jacked it up, and couldn't see anything. Oil was EVERYWHERE. The oil went all the way to the rear axles. So i can't find a source of a leak. There was a oil in the FRont of the car as well. Please help me find suggestions of what it is. Because i was only boosted for about 10 hours.
you probably blew the oil line or feed came off and you probably siezed the motor if the oil pressure went to 0 psi you probably pissed all the oil out of the engine. its very key to always check your lines. or use good fitting an fittings than std clamps.
Is your return hose still intact what about your feed check that first.

take soem pics of the engine underneath pull the oil pan check your bearings you probably spun one with 0psi as well. thats the probably the noise you were hearing is bearing seizing up..
Not trying to add insult to injury...
If you car ever reads 0psi oil pressure-turn the car OFF and look to see whats going on with it.

i had a slight oil return leak when i first got my kit on. noticed it during one of the million times i pulled over to make sure the smoke i saw was just the coating burnign off the mani and not something else. got it home and there was oil everywhere since it was leaking while i drove so it got blown all the way to the rear. luckily i was at a friends shop showin him my kit when the leak was noticed so he game me some spare quarts to dump in so i could make the ride home. sorry to hear bout the engine bro, u definitely gotta be on the ball and constantly checking things in the beginning to make sure everything is better than perfect

you wrong on that.. but damn he should have check the lines you never run with 0psi on oil pressure guage..

pull the oil pan out. look at the main journals. you can see pretty qucik as well as smell the burnt oil
if the oil pressure is zero, chances are you either busted your feed line, oil pump went haywire and etc...
did you cracked the oil pressure sender hole ?

if you have an oil leak and then your gauge reads 0... turn car off. i know its been said but keep that in mind for next time
what i did on my spare motor when the oil was all gone was poured more oil into it and checked to see where it was leaking from. if it doesn't leak at first, try cranking it a few times with someone watching the motor to see where it could be leaking from. hope this helps.
damn bro sorry to hear about that have your **** checked . And on top of that keep and take note what these guys told you . shyiit cause i know i am. im thinkin about not ****** with foreced induction for a minute cause i blew my stock motor way back. But im just gonna go all motor instead.
God love the oil pressure gauge. I think its the one of the most important gauges, especially when your running oil outside of the engine.
It saved my *** a few times.
And if its reading 0psi, wether you think its a wiring issue or not................................get you the damn car and check it dude!

shouldnt the oil light come on the dash?
its just a pressure switch. 0psi should make it light up. with this, i dont think the oil pressure gauge is very high on the list of gauges for a turbo car. street car i mean.

anyone else catch that?
Yea, the stock oil pressure warning light will come on at 0 psi...but by the time that anyone realizes it it's probably too late anyways...maybe.

first try to see why you're leaking oil first...then figure out what's up with your bearing...
seized up bearing is cause mainly by lack of oil in the journal..

If his oil pressure guage is like mine (AutoMeater), then he would porbley have to disconnect the pressure switch for the dummy light so the oil pressure guage would display the correct psi.
