ran 1/4 mile last night
Went to the track last night, We got there and found out the the lapping track was closed
so i decided to run 1/4mile. My mods are headers CAI and exhaust. My best time was 15.131 at 93.63mph. I also got a .500r/t time, my buddy said that is amazing for your first time 1/4 racing to get a .500. So i was just wondering what should i be running i the 1/4, anyway

takes practice and thats about the time a GSR should run. You should be mid to high 14s in a stock R. add a few mods and maybe slightly lower. nice light though

What track opens the drag strip along side the road course on the same night?
0.500 RT is a perfect RT (unless of course you are at one of those tracks that start at 0.000).
What elevation are you at?

i don't know anyone in a front wheel drive car that has been happy with ther 1/4 mile times at cayuga lately. It really hard to launch on. If you go to st.thomas I guarantee you will get a better time. What were your 60ft times? I bet they pretty bad. 2.5?

Mid to high on a basically stock R.

A little more specific on your setup if you don't mind. If you have a decent setup you car should be good for high 13's- low 14's. What were the weather conditions like. Also your 60' would be helpful.

Yes, my 60ft is terrible. 2.6 which is even worse than 2.5. But part of the reason is that is my first time to try 1/4 mile and I have no idea how to launch. But the strip is very hard to launch nevertheless. My wheels keep hoping. So at the end I just say screw this, road course is where I should go anyway. The only reason I went to try 1/4 mile is to get a "baseline" on what the car can do in a straight line stock and it might be interesting to see how much it improves in straight line after I mod the car.

haha, I wish I was so fortunate! The first time I ran at the track I had a .6something reaction time and I ran high 16
Spun like crazy... didnt realize that tracks are like driving on glass that is iced over. I cant wait to run again though.

rated_R, your mph is good for mid/high 14's, your 60ft is obviously the culprit....try lowering your tires psi, and I usually just drop the clutch and modulate the gas.
I ran my R a couple weeks ago..here is my time slip with a CAI, and N1
R/T .811
60' 2.300
330 6.154
1/8 9.348
MPH 76.18
1000 12.090
1/4 14.424
MPH 97.51
20 psi on street tires, and i launch at 6,000.

I ran twice (only 2 runs in like 5 hours
). I tried dump the clutch at 4k and feather at 4k, yield similar result. Terrible wheel hop then engine starts to bog. So I am thinking the tire pressure is too high causing the wheel hop, and the wheel hop causes my instinct to back off the gas pedal a bit and causes the bogging?
