ZC and SiR headlights, same bulbs?
I am inching closer to building my CRX. I really want to upgrade my headlights and was wondering, are ZC and SiR headlights basically the same. I know they are shaped different, but is the lighting the same for both. Thanks
for jdm ones H4H apparently for EDM ones they are just H4 for the 16/16 and VT...and they are glass instead of plastic...

the ZC headlight housing, EF2 i belive? are diff than the EF8/9. The hood on the EF2 (ZC) is a direct fit for the USDM ED9.. and i belive the hatch too.. but the EF8/9 need the whole conversion to addapt the headlight. the ZC hood in america is interchangeable.. thus meaning interchangeable headlight, but they are diff than EF8's and 9's.
as far as the bulbs... if its JDM, im sure its the same.. H4's.

H4H on the EF8/9? nah, i belive just H4.. and i belive the ZC housing is plastic too.. not sure though..
Thats what I thought. This is why I ask. I want to improve the lighting of my REX. I was going to just buy the ZC headlights and hood(for better motor clearence), but I can get the entire SiR front end for just a couple hundred more. Which would you choose?

Honestly.. its the best cosmetic add on i could of ever done.. i tired a WW kit, i did blue lights.. everything.. the EF8 conversion was the best.. and the headlights were noticably brighter.. they go for 650 here in so cal.. if i tired.. i could prolly swing 550.

EF8/9 bulbs are H4H I can guarantee that, not just the plain H4...H4 have huge discs and H4H's have smaller discs... as for the ZC I'm not sure I know they are the same shape as USDM ones and are plastic...peace

Yup!
JDM EF8-9 are trully H4H.The H4 won't fit,unless a major modification.
If the ZC are like our normal ED...I would say they are the same as ours...9005-9004(or 6).

Looks sweet!! Yah I really want to do the entire SiR front end, looks great and better lighting. I figure since I need to replace both my fenders, my headlights, corners, and bumber I might as well get the entire front end. Thanks a lot guys. One more thing Built B16A, is the beam pattern any different? Thanks

Beam pattern is pretty wide, and if you end up getting the conversion, you'll prolly laugh, its plastic, but durable, dont' get me wrong, but you really can't adjust them, on our ED's they have screws to make them go left, right, up, down.. you get the pic.. the JDM ones BOLT in.. they don't really rotate.. you'll see.. i was disapointed, but when i got on the road.. i was surprized, they cover alot, and when i came to a stop, and looked, i couldn't tell.. looked good to me..
if anything, i would say the JDM ones are more of a flood light, than a beam? works good for me..

I guess my ZC headlight came in glass. Well, I got my headlight from Philippines, so this is what they look like..
Notice no extruding nipple from the head light..
H4 conversion.

cool thanks
I really think it would be more cost effective for me to just get the entire front end conversion. Thanks again

Phillippenes must be diff.. im not sure, but i would think the Jap ZC's would be plastic, just like the SiR's.. not sure though... but in that pic of that ZC headlight, you see how the top bolts of the headlight, go right into the houseing? and, which makes sence now, no extrusions for alignment... they anr't adjustable.. but i dont think they are a problem.. i never did.. but something unique. never really realized that, even on mine till now.. lol

Your Shure that the EF-8 aren't adjustable?
Seems to me that the two bolt behind(the headlamp),serve to move the reflector inside(looking fast,I believe it is...)
Tomorrow,I'm gonna post a pics...in case you don't know which one I'm refering to.

Your talking about the JDM EF8 Headlights riiiiight? I didn't pay that much attention, since the H4H's were held in by a paperclip type retainer.. but i didn't see screw adjustment's.. ide have to look, i'll get back to you all.. but seriously, they are much broader, and light much better than the glass ED9's.
