Who has had issues with Version .94 on their AEM EMS?
Just like the topic says I would like to know who has had some serious issues with their AEM unit specifically running version .94. Or if you upgraded to version .94 from an earlier version.
Problems can be: Coil drivers going bad, circuit boards going bad and so on.
Thanks

i don't know if its v.94 or whatever but since its the version i started off with I figured i can post.
went through two eproms, and 1 board.
both times it went bad was on V E R Y cold nights...no laptop was hooked up to it nor were there any changes made. One time the car was RUNNING and then suddenly it died for no reason, no changes were made etc..it was parked.

i never made the switch to .94.
.89 for me until the next release, which will be fully tested.
THEN version 1.0 will come out which will be what they should have had in place before selling the ems to begin with.

I upgraded to .94 the day it came in. So I have nothing to compare it too. But, I haven't had any problems with the EMS hardware.

K think i should rephrase the question. When I say problems I do not mean when you upgrade like changing the settings and making new ign and fuel maps.
For those that are using version .94 have your coil drivers gone bad and if so when you repin and get your car running again how long does it last before they go again? To me .94 is flaky as hell. It works fine then all of a sudden you will be driving and a coil driver will go or some other weird crap.
The other wierd thing I have noticed is when flashing the ECU up to version .94 or back down to version .73 my guages in the car go crazy and I hear all kinds of noises (electrical) coming from relays or where ever.

The Buzzing is the Idle PW setting, change it to from 488Hz to 977Hz. Once you flash to .94...change the Idle PW to 977...you'll be fine. Or at least I was. Read the EMS boards for your other problems. I've never had any 'coil' problems.

the buzzing noise did not go away with switching the frequency setting to 977. I tried that. Also they said it was becasue maybe the iac was getting a litlle tired. Changed to a new one for ***** and giggles still buzzed.
When AEM sent my unit back my car started first click. I was so surprised. But after about a week it started to start hard and harder. Wierd b/c I made no setting changes.

underpressure, why don't you just flash your AEM back to pre .94 and see what happens. If the .94 flash is what caused your car to run crappy why don't you just put back the last thing you changed (flash) and fix the problem. If the last thing you do messes your stuff up then change it back.
Think of all the money AEM is saving on R&D by having the general public BETA test their EMS for them...

in .94 there is an early sync that will reduce the time until spark, and also there is a certain amount of time when i turn the key to on, and the time i start cranking, it will usually start right up

Turn the key and let the fuel pump cycle first and that cuts down the cranking time. The EMS goes through a sensor check before firing and this takes 2-3 full revolutions of the motor.

Actually going to do that tonight. Last time I did it the board was shot so it really did not make a difference what I did to it. Yes I think AEM should pay us to test their product since it has been giving me so many issues.
I told Josh they should stop making EMS and start selling them as anit theft devices b/c more then half the time that is what I use mine for.
And yes boostedhybrid it was working perfectly. I street tuned it wed night till about 530 in the morning was running perfect. Next day drove to work about an hour into my drive it was like someone flipped a switch and made the car run crappy. Feels like when a coil breaks down underload misfiring and bucking like crazy. I made it home car did not want to go faster then 60. Tested the coil= fine. Changed the plugs incase they were messed up road tested still no good. First thing I am going to try tonight is repin and change coil driver see if that fixes it b/c it has the same symptoms.

That is the funniest thing I've ever read!!! Made my night!
Let me know how it works once you flash it back to pre .94. Also, I'm guessing you'll have to wire back to the way it was before you went to .94. I hope this works for you man... I've been trying to tell you that since the last post u put on here. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

My IAC died when the EMS went in... I have a manual IAC now for the first few minutes
It starts alright with enough gas, I don't like it revving to 2500 on cold starts though

i put in EMS on my car and upgraded to v.94 right away, the only problem i currently have is throttle delay, i floor it, first rpms drop and then go up...
