Pictures from Bremerton today
Finally got a chance to meet Victor Penner today and watch him race. Talk about a good time. He was out there with the Porsches as e did not have anyone running in his class. Here are a few pictures:
Now let me tell you about Victor. He is one of the coolest racers I have ever met. He was completely willing to talk about his car and racing in general. Very professional. He also let my wife borrow his big umbrella so that they would ont have to sit in the stands in the sun. Once he was finished his race and back in the pits we returned it to him. He won his race so he got a little checkered flag and got to do a victory lap. When he got back to the pits he gave it to my 3 year old son Patrick. Patrick thought that was the best thing in the world. My wife was highly impressed as well.
Good job on the race today Victor and thanks again for the flag for my son and the umbrella for my wife. Hopefully I can make it to the Monroe race in a couple of weeks. Can you give me a link to the website ith the schedule for the rest of the year? Or maybe just drop me a line with the race dates and location. Thanks.

Hey James!
Thanks!! It was nice to meet you and your family @ Bremerton and I am glad that you had a good time. I got down to the 1:01 's so I am happy. I was thinking about your car on the way home and you probably could be competitive in ITE @ Bremerton with the right prep and some experience. I like running with those porsche guys because they are all fast and thay usually only lean on each other. The Lime Green 911RSA was behind me on the straight and I gave him a point but I didn't lift at all, I just made sure that I was tight to the outside... well he pulls out but I am not braking yet and so he pulls behind me and then realizes that we are very DEEP!!! and he locks it up and loops it big time. I was hitting 125MPH into that braking zone. After the race a couple of the Porsche drivers told me that they were surprised that I was going so quick @ the end of the straight and that I could go deep. I was flattered but I think that they only think Porsches are good cars. A Vintage racer was watching our race and said that people were saying my car was supercharged and that is why I was running good. I wish!!
I am glad that Patrick liked the flag, he's a good kid.
The Monroe race is another one day event and it is on Sun. July 15th. I will send you the N.West URL later. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Excuse me, but i couldn't help but notice that this occured at Bremerton, did it happen to be near Port Orchid?(at an old runway?) I've always been interested in SCCA, but i've never gotten the nerve to go out there with my car, i would like to know when the next meeting is and see if i can try to do some cone bashing..any help would be appreciated thanks!!

Thanks Victor.
I have been thinking about it as well. I figure that once I reach my goal of 12's in drag racing, then I'll focus on road racing. With some practice and weight reduction, who knows. Maybe I could be competitive.
I meant to ask you about your brake setup as well.
Brian,
The racing that Victor is doing is club racing and not autocross. The course is longer and more road racing oriented. There are cones on the course, but only to mark outside edges usually. Of course I could be wrong with any of this info. Please correct me if I am Victor.

Brian,
Forgot to add that there is a lot more safety equipment needed to race in this class. As you can read in Victor's last post, speeds reach well over 100 MPH. Plus if I am right, you need an SCCA liscense to race in this class.
