Default Trying to decide on an amp for a 12" Kicker L7

Just like the topic says, I'm lookin into an amp for a 12" Kicker L7. I am lookin either into the KX300.2 or the KX500.2. I had people tell me that 300 watts is good enough, and not to go with 500 because that is over doing it and it might blow the sub. I am wondering if that is true because the Kicker L7 says it can handle up to 1,500watts (which seems kind of high to me). This setup is going in my Integra, so which would be your choice?

300W is not near enough, neither is 500, the sub is 600w rms right? i say get a jbl 1200.1 amp. its 1200w but really has an output of about 1300. they are about 250 bucks on ebay. that thing should kill w/ that amp.

How about the KX800.2? Would the 800.2 be good enough?

i use a rockford bd1000.1 on my 2 kicker L7s
i can cranked up the gain all the way (just to see what would happen)
and these subs took it like a champ

so i guess the bd500.1 would be cool too for just 1 sub

i love these damn speakers
i abuse them and they dont care

1. jl 500.1
2. audiobahn 600 or 800 by 1
3. kicker 1200.1 a lit too much power tho.

you think the jl 500.1 is better than the kicker kx600.1? Because I was most likely goin with the KX600.1.

Are you going ported or sealed? The 600.1 will do fine, and I'd get that over the JL because it will probably be much cheaper and provide more power.

There's almost no way that could blow an L7

Well I hear that ported/vented is supposed to hit harder. So I think I might go with one of those, even though they are heavier. Correct me if I'm wrong.
