Default LSD how do I tell?

Ive got an A-1 tranny. I looked it up on bseries.net and they say that it is from a first gen B16. I've been told it's from canada. I don't have a clue other than I know it's a B-series tranny. I've never even heard of an A-1 until I got it from a friend. Does anyone know what engine it origanally came on and how do I tell if it's got an LSD. Thanks

if it's a factory LSD unit. Look thru the hole where the axles go into the tranny. if you can see thru it, it's got factory LSD

If it has two round bars. sorry. one wheeled wonder you shall be.

Yeah thats acctually pretty easy....

1. Start the car
2. Go somewhere were you have some room.
3. Mash the gas.
4. Drop the clutch
5. Hold it for a little... get a little white smoke... ok stop.
6. Pull forward 10' stop.
7. exit vehicle.
8. count tire marks.

1 = Non-LSD
2 = LSD

actually, with proper sway bar/ suspension preloading, you can get a non-LSD vehicle to leave 2 marks.

Sometimes my car leaves 2 tire marks, and I don't have lsd.

try that if its out of the car, if its in the car, jack the 2 front wheels off the ground, put shifter into neutral, spin one wheel, if the other spins also (opposite direction), with car in gear, spin one wheel if the other spins (same direction this time) you have LSD

My old 4-dr with ls and jdm S-1 would leave two tire marks and it wasn't an lsd. all it had was poly bushings, nuespeed race springs and a camber kit.

And we installed it today. It isn't a jdm tranny. plain old teg. felt better when I found out cause I put it in my friends DX and he's putting it up for sale.

This is factory LSD b series tranny. It is stamped at the top of pic. I assume not all LSD trannies are stamped but this one was.

Look thru the hole where the axles go into the tranny. if you can see thru it, it's got factory LSD
