Default Automatic Transmission Flush/Fill Question

I did a search for this and read MANY threads, but became rather confused. Most seemed to refer to manual transmissions, but my Teg is an auto so I got kinda confused. How do I go about doing this, is the drain plug for my auto in the same spot as on manual, do I need a pump, or can I fill from the dipstick hole, do I use Honda MTF even though its an auto, etc.? Thanks for the help.

The drain plug is located on the passenger side of the front of the car. If you want to change the fluid, just put a narrow funnel where the dipstick is. You're going to replace your fluid with Honda ATF, which you can buy at the dealership. Lastly, when changing your fluid this way, you are not completely changing the fluid, just half of it.

You cannot do a fluh and refill at home, you need the a special machine for this, just bring it to a place like Jiffy lube if you want a entire flush. They have the machine that is able to get out the fluid from the torque converter also.

If you do a drain and refill, it will take 3 qts. You don't necessary need honda atf. A quality dexron III fluid will also work plus it's only about $1.50 a quart compare to $4.00+ a quart for Honda ATF.

I usually get Honda ATF for about $2.50 a quart when they have sales. I usually just buy a couple of cases an stock up. I usually change my ATF every 15-20K miles.
