Default Type R vs Prelude on Top End

Does anyone know if the Preluede is faster on top end than a R? Because yesterday me and a friend decided to take our car out and top end them, because we knew the R was faster on 1/4 but we didn't know if it was faster on top end. When we started to race our car I was killing him up until about 140mph and then he just started tp pull and I couldn't catch up to him. I could have push my car some more to catch hm but I know of knew my car wouldn't complete catch him. We had the same bolt ons too.

The ITR should be faster simply because it is lighter and revs higher.

But engine mods done to a bigger motor, usually has more hp gains than to a smaller motor with similar mods.

But we all know ITRs will kill anything

I'm just curious to know how does a higher revving car make it faster?

Actually the ITR is limited by the gearing. I'd think the lude would be faster in overall top speed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

yeah thats pretty fawking retarded... i love the idea... lets test the 140mph on a fwy.. most people dont even realize how fast that is! if something happens unexpected.. or someone simply pulls up in front of you.. you will not be able to react to that at such high speeds.. results, you'll probably kill your own dumbass and take inconnect peoples lives with you as well..
not even worth it... to prove what.. take that top speed chit someplace in the desert under someones supervison.

hey... im not telling you guys what to do, its your choice, but my brother was caught going faster than that (147mph and racing a Dodge Stelth) but he was damn lucky to got away with a $280 fine and 2 years driving probation. Dont **** up like he did.. try and keep the speed down.. when u think back.. was it really nessesary to drive that fast and endanger yourselfs and other people?? Sorry for bitching.. but doing that in my opinion is just dumb.

I don't know where you guy got thr idea I went on the Highway or Freeway and Race my car, did I ever state that. I never even stated when I race, but for you information it was on the Highway or Freeway where people could get hurt. We tested are cars out on a private owned air port runway.

An ITR is gear limited if your doing about 160mph. My speedometer will read past 150mph and I still have 500rpms to go before redline. I think stock for stock an R would win though. Hard to tell.

well, just the other day, i was babysitting my neighbor's twin newborn baby girls. i got bored and decided to take them for a ride in the type R. i put them both in the passenger seat and wrapped the seatbelt around their necks so they'd be safe.

after smoking a supra TT and two M3's in street races through the school zone, i went out on the highway and punched the gas to get through some heavy traffic. befoer i knew it, i was going 170 mph...don't flame me tho...it was ok becasue i was in the HOV lane. i think the car could have gone even faster but my trunk was loaded down with explosives. i'll try it again soon and let you know what happens. wish me luck.

Because when they shift they lose speed because your not shifting. If you have street race you will notice if they jump out a head of you you beat them when they shift.

This guy is obviously full of ****. I haven't even had my R up to 140 yet, and I'm a complete moron. Are the prelude tires even rated to go that fast. You're just asking to die.

A $280 ticket and probation.... no, I think thats attempted manslaughter. Thats jail time isn't it?

But to answer the question, first whats the max speed of both cars. Probably around 155mph or so? So your question is which accelerates the last 15 mph before redline. Well... I don't know. Probably all comes down to wind-resistance at that point.

Well, given the same/similar power curves (not the case here), reving higher will put you back in a beefier part of your rev band, AKA "Reach."
