Default how to tell if cluster has been switched in 4th gen?

hey everybody... i am wondering if there is a VIN # on the dash cluster in 4th gens... i have the digital odometer... i am suspicious that the odometer may have been rolled back and would like to verify that it is the original cluster.. please help... is there any other way that the kms could have been rolled back?? I live in canada so even though i did a carfax there is no way of knowing how many kms the car had when it was registered.. stupid system

thanks in advance for any help

dan

you can't roll back a digital odometer, you can only swap them...

your only real hope is that theres a discrepency between registration or something, its not stored in the ECU and it also could be easily switched out...as long as the car runs fine..whats the big deal?

Question i have just redone my entire engine tranny clutch and anything you can think of in my car. Now the odometer reads 230,000 but everything only has 40,000 miles on it. is it bad if i rool it back?

You cant roll it back..Your Odometer is not cable run.
And as far as everything has 40K on it, did you totally restore your car. Down to the last bushing,Nut,Bolt,bearing,hose,seat,steering wheel,ignition,wireharrnesses,gas tank,seat belt,door hinges,carpet,seals,windsheild,door locks,steering rack,brake calipers,brake lines,brake/clutch master cylinder,shift lever,shift linkage,cross beams,window motors,solnoids,ABS motor ect,ect,ect........You get my point..
