Default Mugen Headgasket...Is it worth it?

I did a search and all I found was some guy from Jamaica saying it was ****. But I think it was because he didn't tune the engine correctly after adding the headgasket. I'm planning to get...

a.) Spoon 4-2-1 Header
b.) Modified Carsound 2.5" Cat
c.) Toda Spec B's
d.) Upgraded drivetrain (toda springs and portflow retainers)

Will the Mugen Headgasket do anything for my projected set-up? If so, approximately how much whp will I gain from it?

I think it will help the B's. I have one too, and when I install my B's, I am doing the head gasket as well.

Didnt tune the engine properly!
Please tell me what other tuning i need to do to get power.
I went back to the dyno and moved the intake cam first setting timing to 18
degreees and the power fell off, so tell me how to tune it properly.
I would really appreciate it.

Its not worth the money if you dont need to change your gasket.
If you need to change it, then waste your $130.
If you put in cams you wont know what gains the gasket gave you.
How much power do you expect a one less layer gasket to give you,
is 130 worth 1 Hp?

How many km you have on your car now? Is the engine running great and healthy? If not don't get the head gasket.

The reason I want the Mugen headgasket is because I heard that when putting in aggressive cams, raising the compression will yield better gains. At the same time, it was suggested that the highest CR you can run safely with 93 octane gas is 11:1. So the headgasket is a perfect mod from what I get from this board.

4doortypeR - didn't mean to offend you. I was just reading your topic about this and it seems like everybody that responded to you said that your engine wasn't tuned correctly. It wasn't a personal criticism...

I highly doubt the mugen headgasket will raise your compression more than what you think.. If i were doing a cheap mod to make more compression I'd take a stock head gasket and remove the inner layer. Right there is the same effect and it will costs only like 60 bucks from the dealer. If you want to raise your compression a half a point or more yoiu need to change pistions or mill your head.

JUst how much lower can you go (Mililng and thinner head gasket) before the valves bottom out on the pistons (stock internals) What about the higher lift on the spec b's?
