Building hatch from my ITR parts...need some help
I dont have time be searching around right now so I hope you guys can help me out.
My ITR is totalled, and I want to swap over the motor, interior, and 5 lug to 92-95 hatch, or possibly a 96-00. The motor isnt too difficult to swap, but not sure about the interior and 5lug. I need to know what will and will not swap directly into the hatch. If it involves a little bit of modication then thats fine. If you happen to know what would be different for a 96-00 feel free to let me know. The parts im interested in swapping over are:
ITR Motor/shift linkage
ITR 5lug(shocks and springs too?)
ITR Gauge cluster(direct swap?)
ITR Console(will shifter console and JDM armrest fit?)
ITR Seats front and rear, maybe door panels also?
ITR front tower bar, rear sway bar 22mm(not sure if it fits)
AEM ECU OBD2/harness(probably need OBD2 to OBD1 harness?)
Anything else you can think of that might possibly swap over??

You could fit anything from an ITR onto an EG, they basically share the same chassis, you could even get crazy and swap your dash if you want. Sky's the limit, good luck!!!

shut up n00b. the question is pretty involved, Im not gonna sit here and search for hours mostly likely not finding the info I need. the reason I dont have much time is because i want to buy the hatch asap.

He's just asking for what fits in which chassis and he named most of the parts already so he knows what he's talking about. He's merely asking what other parts might fit that he didn't mention. I know on an EG/DC share the same chassis, so just about everything is swappable or could be done with slight modification. I'm not sure about the EK, since I don't have one.
I think the EG would be a good choice since it's a little lighter than the EK, and they basically share the same chassis. Less of a headache and of course I'm bias cuz I own one.
I'd do the same thing if I was to be in the same situation.

whats needed as far as the 5 lug is concerned? I know there is something where you have to use a different LCA for the rear or something like that, but also what about the shocks/springs? would they bolt right in with the 5 lug or need modification?

You'll need your ITR LCA's, they basically bolt in if you plan on using your ITR suspension. You could also use the shocks and springs from your ITR, or any aftermarket coilover set up. It's basically bolt on, no modifications what-so-ever.
the 5 lug including lca's, shocks, springs, and swaybars will swap over to a 92-95 with no modification. you will have to use the stock civic lca's to make it work for an ek, this means you will not be able to use your itr shocks and rear swaybar endlinks, but if you plan on new coilovers that is not a big deal and the proper hardware for the swaybar will only run about 50$.
i believe the front suspension is a direct swap for the ek as well, but i'm not sure... for more info KID1320 did a full itr 5 lug on his 99 civic si.
the itr seats will go into an eg with no modifiaction and the dash takes modification but alot less than putting it into an ek. also the strut bars and crossmember brace will work in an eg too.

also i wasnt clear enogh about the seats, i think the rear itr seats will be direct bolt-in to an eg b/c i know the gsr leather seats work... and here is a link about the dash swap, it has another link in it which is really good... i'd personally do everything except the dash and sell the dash for a few hundred$, you can wire an itr gauge cluster into a stock dash without too much hassle

this was up the other day too, it is an eg hatch that did exactly what you are thinking about.

Have another question, slightly more complicated involving the AEM ECU. My ITR is a 2000(OBD2) and 92-95 EGs are OBD1. Im pretty sure Im going to have to use my ITR harness for the motor, but how to I go about hooking up the ECU which is OBD2(I think) where the EG ecu harness is OBD1? Can I get a harness for OBD2 to 1 so the computer can plug into where the stock ecu plugs in??
If I were you...I'd swap over little things like the steering wheel. I took my room mate's stock steering wheel from his Type R....and used the leather wrapping with my stock black H air bag.....feels way better and looks good too
. Pretty much anything non electrical will swap over with little work. If the radiator is good....you could swap that over too

You would be able to transfer all of your suspension components into an EG, but you would only be able to transfer the 5 lug brakes into an EK. I personally think the EK looks better, but to each his own.

She was in the same situation as you. Totalled ITR and transfered all parts possible to an EK hatch. Basically, if it will fit on an EK, it was transfered over. You can get a good idea what from your ITR would and wouldn't fit into an EK hatch. Good luck with your new project!
