i am about to receive my powerslot rotors and project mu brake pads in the mail. just would like to know how long it takes to break in and what should be my driving habits when doing so. thanks in adv.
I 've been told by a couple of race shops that they 're broken in by about 300mi. But it all depends if your mileage is mostly highway or city. Just drive normal and don't slam the brakes or be on them for long periods of time. Usually about 20 average brakings does it.
Yep, "breaking" in brakes, is more about the stops than the miles. IIRC, recommended is 4-8 stops from 45 to a roll and 4-8 stops from 65 to a roll. Coming to a complete stop is not disastrous, but you want to avoid it. Coming to a complete stop during break-in can cause "ledges" (unlikely) on the surface of the rotor.

thanks for the help. so, if i understand correctly, i shouldn't make a complete stop at all during the break in period?
If you need to stop completely in an emergency, do so. Also, you are allowed to completely stop during the break in period.
I break in my pads/rotors in the following manner. 8-10 complete gradual stops from 30-35 mph right after putting them in. Also, take it easy for the first 500 miles after putting the pads/rotors on.
