Default changeing tranny gear ratio with lsd.

I am considering buying a qaifie lsd and I have heard that it is possable to change the final drive of the transmission.

If this is corret is it in my best intrest to do so. I have a 91 teg 350+whp with a LS tranny in it now.
I have read all the post about gear ratios and am rather conserned about what to do. I have heard many mixed storys about si, gsr, and ls trannys. Mostly by people who probably are just repeating others storys and raveing about how good the one thay have is, eventhough it is the only one they have had. Note if you have only drivin one tranny dont comment please I want to know facts and base my decision on them.

basicly the i will be useing the car mostly on the streets and sometimes at the track but i do want best of both worlds. I have heard by many knowlegeable peple that ls is better due to the fact that i will only use 4 gears and it will be easyer and what not. On the other hand i have heard that b16tranny is faster hands down. so if you have used both what do you think is best for my apt. should i change my gear ratio with the lsd or stay the same or something in the middle if that is possable. thanks for help.

pretty much with the ls tranny you have options from prodriveusa as with the final drive msot of the ats and other fds out there work only vtec fd

i would get a 4.4 or 4.6 if you really want to accelerate.
Remember you would have to change the countershaft as weell as first and the fd gear. usually sold in a set.

ok so you dont just call quafie and they ship you a differental that fits to a ls tranny that gives it a gear raito simular to that of a b16 tranny.

no thats not possible.. the diff from quaife is just a diff doesnt come with a new ring gear.

final drive is determined based on your ring gear number of teeth/ your counter shaft number of teeth
