Questions regarding bottom end overhaul?
Here's the deal, I've got bad rings, and my no.3 cylinder has scratches on the cylinder wall. I plan on getting .25 oversize Type S pistons. My question is will I just be able to hone out the cylinder or will I have to take my block to a machine shop to get the pistons to fit?

I drive from my house to Philadelphia everyday. About 50 miles one way, so maybe a quart every 150 miles. I have a loud taping noise coming from my engine also. I couldn't even get her to pass emissions. Hydro carbons were like 289, and the limit is only 131ppm. I got a small leak out of the valve cover also. I'll take care of the leak when the bottom end is redone.
