Default Going Through Alternators Like Water

At first I thought it was just faulty alts (I believe 2 of em were), but going through 5 within one yr's period, there's somethign seriously wrong. With B16A1, I know u can choose between the 90-91 teg or 95 DelSol DOHC Vtec model, so I went with the Delsol model. I dunno if this is causing the problem or something else with my electrical system. It's more of a matter of annoyance to havign to keep changing alts more then anything.

Can anyone suggest possible reasons behind all these alt replacements. BTW, my alt pulley also has a little dent on it but I don't think that is causing all these probs....

thx

You wanna use the 90-91 teg unit, this I do know. As for going through them all... hmm. Maybe your wiring is bad. Ever think about having it toubleshooted at a shop? In the long run it'll be cheaper than buying new alt's all the time.

Yeah I think i'll do that.

BTW, what would happen if u slapped on a D series alt instead of B? I understand teh amps are diff and so is the "performance chart" ... but what are the consequences of these diffs? Just wanna learn more about alts....thx
