18s on CRX
does anyone have pictures of 18 inch rims on CRX...... because i cant debate wether to get 17s or 18s... its kind of a hard choice becuase i hear that 18s give a bad ride, but look better, and 17s give a descent ride, but dont look as good as 18s
no 18s look like ****, makes the car look like a 4x4, AND it rides and handles like complete ***. I would get 16s at the largest.

Get 17's, I'm ridding on 17's with Neuspeed Race Springs (2.00 and 2.25 inch drop) With that combo my car almost looks like it's back to factory hight. 18's will look like a 4x4 for real.
I ride on 16's and think the ride is a bit harsh. I can't image going to 17's, or even worse 18's. I personally would not go over 16". But hey, whatever floats your boat.

This is an easy choice, lightweight 15's. 17"s and bigger are too tall and too heavy for a REX. 16"s are about right, but the 40 series kills the ride, your limited on rubber choices, and lightweight 16"s are few and far between. You will be much happier with a set of 12lb 15"s than anything else. I've got gunmetal spoon knockoffs and they give a way better ride than my RSF2 enkei's. I'm going to sell the enkei's with 205/40-16 Khumo 712's which look bitching but are a bit heavy, I'm in SD. If you do goto 18"s make sure you order clear corners, and a big wing to save some money on shipping.
the reason i want 18s is because i have seen 18s on a RSX and it looks like it needs 20s' i know that my crx wheelwell is alot smaller then a RSX, but i dont have rims to put on my car, and i dont want to buy the wrong set of rims for my car, if anyone has pictures of 17s on their CRX please post them, also i have alot of money invested into my CRX, and i want whats best for it, my car should be done by this weeked, bodykit and all.......... over 8,000$ invested into CRX, now all that i need is Rims...... so please help with pics
i can admit, when i had my 17" SSR Gp-0's my rex looked hella nice. but it rode like chit. the ride was hella rough and accleration was a lil slow. now i have 15" rims and the ride is better

if you get 17's they will rub, 18's will probably rip a hole in the sidewall in a few months.
I have both 15's and 17's for my car and do you know how many times I have put my 17's on? once.
if you do decide to get 17's 205 40 17 will be the cheapest and easiest tire size to find.
expect there to be a large jump in price from 17's to 18's.
why not just get some honda/acura 15''s and call it a day. then you wont get heat from the guys on honda-tech for being a ricer. hehe.
GSR's, SI's or you can go to your local honda dealer and pick up the FP rims (factory performance) They have about 4 models to choose from. one being a downsized version of the new CTR rims, which I thing look tight like a tiger.

My 17s don't rub at all, and my car is lowered...
The biggest I'd ever go on the 1988-1991 Civic/CR-x is 15s.
Even some 15's will scrub if the car is lowered roughly 2.5'' because of the narrow wheel wells that the 1988-1991s have. Offest is the key to not scrubbing. Hell my buddiy's 15'' Circuit 8s scrubbed with 195-50-15 tires on them.
I think 17's and especially 18's look rediculous on these cars. The blue car pictured above with the kit and higher ride height doesn't look too bad with 17's because the body kit matches up better with those wide wheels, but honestly I'm not a fan of kits either.
Who am I to tell you to get 15s though - it is your car.
They just seem to be way more pracitcal, have much better/more tires choices, and they cost much less and to most of this MB and true performance enthusiasts 17s and 18s will be the object of ridicule.
Good luck regardless, but if you get 17s or 18s and they scrub and ride like **** don't ever say that nobody warned you.

my crx came with 17's looked nice and all, but road like shiit, put on some stock steelies till i can sell the 17's and get a nice set of 16 or 15's and the ride with the steelies is 100 times better even with the car slammed
yeah, my CRX has 17's on it and i couldn't imagine getting 18's and my car isn't lowered either. if you are truly only choosing between 17's and 18's then go with the 17's. the CRX is a small car and 17's are huge on them. and if you lower your car even 2" then there will be very little to no wheel to fender gap.

I had 17's on my JDM SiR and it felt like crap. I ended up switching back to 14's. Im just waiting for my 15" Mugen MR5's and I will stick with them.
