Need help/advise here...
Hi everyone...
Im not sure if im in the right category here...im driving a 2001 civic sedan. Just wondering what mods can i do for my car, other then the usual I/H/E modification?? I want the car to remain NA, no force inducted stuff / nitrous for me.
If i change the camshaft, how much HP/torque gain will i be looking at?? And is it true that changing the camshaft will give my car bad idling?? Anyone out there know of any brands that makes aftermarket product for my car?? Sorry for asking so much questions...

Just stick around for a while, visit different parts of the forum and don't be afraid to search. It seems to me like you're new to this hobby. Take your time, search, etc. It's hard for us to give you HP figures after adding cams because of the many different possibilities. I would suggest a swap, but it's too early to call for that. Look around our best buy and classifieds forum, also pick up a local car magazine at your local newstand (sport compact car, stupid street, etc) You'll see there's a huge aftermarket industry out there. But before you get into all that, do some homework. Half of the crap you see out there for sale is rice-o-roni crap that's not even worth buying.

could'nt of said it better myself.. read more and post less. that way you will come up with a more informed question and you will also see how h-t works.

Past H-T threads are a great resource. Besides you should learn alittle into it before asking questions. You'll find that you will ask better more detailed questions that will help you (and your car) to your goals.
Besides you should not expect everyone to just hand you the formula without any effort. Hanf here read some things ask questions to help support what you read and you will be "in like flint"
Simply changing camshafts won't do much for you as you think, cam profiles need to match the rest of the engine config.

...hmmm, yeh...im really kinda new to the car scene. I actually do read the other post in the forum, very informative...but most of you guys are running B series engine, with exceptional of a few D series engine..but they are mostly of the older engine, which aint much help to me, as i cant do the same mod as them. Anyway, i did checkout a lot of manufacturers & not many do products for my engine/car. Guess i have to proceed with my engine swap plan..hmm...i really cant stand this new D17 engines..way underpower
. Thx anyway guyz. One last q, anyone knows whether i could hook in a H22 engine in my car?? If its possible, would you all suggest H22 or a K20 (DC5R ones)..performance wise?? Im pretty much aiming for the K20, but just want to see if i have any other option.

I'm not at all familiar with the 7 gen. Civics, but from what I understand, any older Honda engines (B series, H series) are not going to just bolt in. It would require a lot of work, if it is even possible.
Personally, I think the best thing you can do, if you want to stick with your car, is be patient. Wait to see if the aftermarket develops better options for your engine, or until RSX swaps are plentiful.

Thats why, at 1st i wanted to stay with the current engine, but looking at the market, i doubt there will be much aftermarket product for the current engine. Its not really a performance engine. I do know that if i have to put in a K series or B series, it wont be a bolt on...i would need engine swap components. You got a point. Maybe i wait awhile longer before i make up my mind
Thx..
