piston squirters question (b16a)
ok, first, a 99-00si engine is the b16a correct?
next, how hard is it removing the piston squirters in the b16a?

If you want to increase displacement I'd sleeve the block and go as big as possible with bore.
Stroking that B16A will make it less reliable and it won't rev the same as it does now. Are you familiar with rod/stroke ratio and it's relationship with engine life and revvability?
Stroking that B16A will give it a worse r/s ratio, which means that it will have harder lateral forces on the cylinder walls, and the pistons will be at more of an angle and basically it's just not a good idea if you want to drive the **** out of your car.
The B18C1/B18C5 get their .2 extra cc from stoke too, but their blocks are 3mm taller. This means that their r/s ratio isn't as bad as say a stroked B16A would be.
If you sleeved that B16A and went with an 84.5mm or even 85mm (I've heard of some going 86mm!!!) then you'd get that 1.8L and have an even better r/s ratio than any B18 block! This set-up could be an absolute bad-*** when compared to the likes of the B18C5 block.
Honda's most revvable motor is a B16B. The B16B is actually a B18C5/ITR block that is DESTROKED to keep the r/s ratio ideal. Honda knows a thing or two about engine building, so why would they destroke an engine if stroking an engine is such a good idea?
I don't know bro. I'm thnking that sleeving and getting some 12.5:1 CR custom pistons (because your bore would be that 84.5mm or 85.. ) and rings might cost the same or less than that Crower stroker kit.

This is good info and all, but could anyone elaborate on the piston squirters? Anyone used the b16a2 squirters in a b20 block? I know you would have to tap the block, but I am sure someone has done it.

I don't really know how its done. The piston oil squirters aren't necessary if you are running forged pistons in the b20, thats what I've heard, and it does make sense. The stock pistons are cast, and in b16s, b18cs they need the oil squirters to keep them cool.

Stroker kits such as this one will generally give you more torque then HP by it's inherant design, but still an increase overall. However, that power will be generated at the expense of Honda's trademark "free-revving" ability. It probably will not drive very well...nor like a honda anymore...
