Default Head Work on F22b1

I'm just curious... I've heard both ways about having head work done to a Honda head. Some people say it's done right from the factory and someone could screw up a good head by trying to port it.

How much is too much as far as shaving, porting or whatever?

If you go too deep you could cut into a coolant passage or really screw it up. This is best left to someone who knows what they're doing...

It all depends on who's doing it...a good polish will benefit any motor but the real art is porting.

Try giving http://www.portflow.com a looksee and maybe even a call. They do awesome work.

only on the exhaust side, portmatching the intake ports to the h23 im took alot of material out, beware intake ports 2, and 3 are 1/2 as thick as 1 and 4, you will need to add either jb weld or aluminum, the choice is yours

I have a KG Precision Engineering stage 5 p&p head with SSI valves 950 shipped, that would save you all the troubles of having it done, and it would cost the same to have it p&p as what i am selling mine for.

Hey Accordfreak, he didn't have any problems doing mine. It might depend on when you want the work done. He told me that as long as I had him do the work before the start of the raceing season he could handle it. Maybe he doesn't want to take on anything "different" when he's already swamped with business. He charged me $900 for the P&P, plus $600 for the Ferrea valvetrain and $50 to ship the head back to Georgia, for a total of $1550 well spent dollars. Tom really does awesome work.
