i raced an ep3 rolling around 30, downed into 2nd and rpm jumped to 7500 which lasted about a sec shifted to 3rd while pulling away from him. slowed down and stopped at a light. i turned and asked him. "what you got in it." he replied,"nothing, stock with an intake." i was like cool, nice color (he had the blue). carbon fiber dash trim. black and blue leather seats with CF trim. then he says, i got a whole lot of parts from your car to put on mine and i just laughed and said yeah. but to get to my point. thoes lil suckers got some power! haha, i was actually surprised on how it was performing. much respect to you ep3 owners. keep doing your thing

i ran a friend of mine (93 prelude vtec) the other day in my ep (injen cai, dc header) on the highway and went toe to toe with him all the way through third, then got walked pretty good in 4th. (our 4th is gutless) i saw it coming but he was impressed with how it held up. couple of real mods and we should compete.

going to the track this friday...still debating on whether or not to run.

 

Just wait for the EP3 aftermarket to start rolling, The car has way to much hidden potential.

about three of my freinds have DC5-s's ....the new EP3's are no match for them whatsoever ......they end up ahead by 3-4 car lengths ....

the EP3's are not fast little suckas ...she just needs to improve her driving skillz ...even the old EM1 99-00 Si's are faster than the EP3

you dont have to under exsagerate ....tell it like it is chica ....you wont get flamed about something they already know ....they are slow in stock form ....they cant deny it

And where did you get this bit of information from? Stock vs stock the times are pretty much dead even. And given equal bolt-on mods, I think the EP3 actually has an advantage. With a hondata on the EP3, the EP3 will be the faster car.

If you wish to offer up proof, that would be great. Or is this strictly 'in your opinion'?

i've seen it on many occasions ....an EM1 take down a EP3 .....stock for stock their pretty even , but the EM1 is still faster if driven right ....

the EP3 has far more potential ......but stock for stock , the new EP3 cant even be faster than what it replaces is pretty lame to me ....

but then who cares about straight line racing ....the EP3 would still own it on a road course given it had some better wheels and tires

 

How can u say that u are correct? I have a 02 si w/ I/E. I beat a 2000 EB Civic SI that had i/h/e. I ran a 15.5@89mph. So i can say that the EP is faster right? U have no proof other than your opinion. Which is exactly that, your opinion.

 

I raced a 02 RSX-S from a dead stop. Sure i lost but i was never behind his bumper the whole time. I am not considered a great driver by no means, but i know our cars have as much power if not more than an older SI. When i finished racing the RSX-S, he told me that he had alot more respect for the EP now that he raced one. Its kindof a dumb topic cuz each one who owns a 99/00 si or a 02/03 si is going to stay on there side.

how can you say your correct by your expeirience ..i've seen EM1's run easy 15.3's at 91 mph ......and better with mods ....its not opionion ....its by what i have physically seen ....

but again ....who cares if the EM1 is faster in the 1/4 mile ....the EP3's chassis was intended for a road course ...not a drag strip

 

i am not saying the EP is quicker, but from my experiences they are. Just as the older SI's are faster from your experiences..right? I saw a EP w/ just DC Header run 15.1. Its a drivers race with these 2 cars. Nothing more 2 say ya know?

honestly the only reason an EM1 could be faster (stock) than a EP3 is due to weight .....

but if you look at the real picture ....the 1/4 mile race , means diddly squat ....

the EP3 has huge advancements in engine design ...probably one of the stiffest honda chassis's to ever hit our shores ....

the chassis screams track ***** ...the EM1 ...is no were near that .....

 

99-00 Si chassis is an EK chassis, I dont know where you got EM1

and the winner is...... Tsunami!!! The 99-00 em1 civic is faster stock. I had both cars and can tell you from experience for are buddy chris i think it was... Also can tell you why driving wise. The gearing in the ep3 SUCKS *** for 1/4 till you have more mods... You have to shift 3rd at about 81-84 range, losing your power and dropping down. In the older models with the rpms you can bring it to 87, maybe even 89 or 90(i beleive, its been awhile since i had that car). But point is in stock form you wouldnt or would be shifting right at the line. In the ep3 your still about 4mph away from the line. As for potential... I would definetly say the ep3 has the upper hand... I know with just the hondata, intake, and a header, its capable of 14.6@93 with a good 60'. this is how i have seen the 2 cars!

 

thats koo......i haven't gotten a chance to race an EP3....but i want to...juss to see...i run one....i think it would be fun....there aren't many where i live!

 

Thier new, but thier starting to catch on to many people very fast..I think its because people hookem up nicely and race them, kicking some butt....I think the RSX-S and the EP3 (Si) share some engine parts to, because the RSX base and EP3 has diffrent intake manifolds ...Correct me if im wrong....
