30 HP, and the ability to rev higher - considering both motors are stock.

the b series has much more potential. The motor was designed to be powerful, yet reliable. You will be much happier with a stock b series then a stock d series.

dohc has more tunability than sohc...if you're gunna keep then stock. i'd go B, turbo i'd go D...since its cheaper to build up, and can hold boost well. N/A i'd go B since you can do so much with the powerband and you can open up the B to something like 2.3l max and only 1.8l max on the D...assuming you keep stock parts

D series can go to a 2.0l i think. i thought RS Machine did this. My vote goes for the D. It's cheaper to build, cheaper to fix, and cheaper performance parts. Oh and did I mention its cheaper? If you've got lots of $$$ to burn then hell go for the best, buy a B18C5 or an H22A. A B16 is just another torqueless 1.6.

I'd go for the B-series, I felt a big difference with the b18b than the d16y8.
